# Description

Frame authentication derived from the block cipher rather than a hash: CMAC runs AES over the frame to produce the authentication tag, reusing the encryption primitive a mission already carries onboard. New missions key it at 256-bit AES, and the related GMAC variant may substitute where authenticated encryption is being used for authentication only.
