Master Key

Description

The top-rank, long-lived key a mission holds. A master key is never used on ordinary traffic; it protects session keys when they are re-keyed over the air and authorizes sensitive onboard crypto-unit commands. Because everything below it depends on it, losing a master key undermines every key derived under it.
