Triggering the clear mode
Parent: T1562
Description
An attacker can trigger the clear mode accessing TC or consuming its resources, , to disable or limit the security level of the spacecraft. If a 'clear mode' is implemented, the conditions under which, and by which, it is activated should be carefully analyzed, as those might introduce major security vulnerabilities. T1562.001 'Triggering the clear mode' covers requesting clear/null cipher operation — addresses DE-0003.07's flipping to clear-telemetry profiles and downgrading cryptographic modes.
T1562.001 'Triggering the clear mode' covers deliberately inducing clear/safe mode — addresses DE-0005's variant of inducing safe-mode entry to broaden acceptance windows.
T1562.001 'Triggering the clear mode' explicitly describes triggering clear mode 'to disable or limit the security level of the spacecraft' — directly aligned with EX-0006's force-fallback-to-null-cipher and downgrade-to-clear paths.
